There are considerable problems such as using only consonant phonemes, confusing in the assignment of Yin‒Yang(陰陽)･Five‒Elements(五行), using letters in the naming, the ambiguous relationship with Saju‒Myeongli Science(四柱命理學), low utilization, applying when characters and sounds are different, the problem of calculating the number of strokes, strange names, sounds without effect, not reflecting literal meaning and insufficient research.

같은 사주, 같은 이름임에도 불구하고 각 작명법에 따라 이름의 길흉 풀이가 각기 다르게 나타나고 있다. 어느 한 작명법만을 옳다고 주장할 수 없다.
